Epson TM P80II Wireless Portable Printer Set Up

Prerequisites:

  • Community wireless/network information needed for the printer.
  • Device with QR code scanning capabilities
  • Epson TM Utility App (Optional, but suggested)
  • YouTube Video Tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JA8cR9ouYPQ (Optional)
  1. Turn printer on by pressing the power button firmly. The printer will need to be charged before attempting to turn on, the printer comes with a charging cable that uses USB C for charging. Lights on the back will indicate level of charge.
  2. "SimpleAP Start" should print off when powering on the printer.
  3. After approximately 20 seconds a QR code and instructions will print off.
  4. If "SimpleAP Start" does not print off, you will need to follow the below steps to print it off
    1. Open paper roll cover
    2. Press and hold the "Feed" button until there is a buzz noise then release pressure.
    3. When the "Next Action" sheet prints off, follow the instructions to select "SimpleAP", this should pressing the "Feed" button 5 times for less than a second then pressign the "Feed" button a 6th time for about a second.
  5. Scan the QR code with your phone or use the "Epson TM Utility" app that you can download to your phone (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.epson.tmutility&hl=en_US). Once scanned it should have a message asking to join the wifi network with the printer name. The printer slip with the QR code will also have instructions.
    1. If using the Epson TM Utility, you will want to navigate to "Wifi Set Up Wizard" and select the printer "TM-P80II" printer before hitting "Next".
      1. Once you are at the below screen, press "Printed" to move on to the screen to scan the QR code with your mobile device.
  6. Once scanned it should have a message saying "Join Wi-Fi Network", choose "Join" and follow the steps of inputing the wireless/network information required for the printer.
  7. After entering in Wifi information, once at the IP Address Setting turn off the "Auto (DHCP)" setting.
