Boot DT315BT from a USB Drive

Objectives

  1. Boot a DT Research DT315BT from a USB drive.

Prerequisites

  1. DT Research DT315BT tablet.
  2. Docking station with AC adapter.
  3. USB keyboard.

Instructions

  1. Plug the AC adapter into port on the back of the docking station.
  2. Plug the AC adapter into a power outlet.
  3. Plug the USB drive into one of the USB ports on the back of the docking station.
  4. Place the tablet on the docking station.
  5. Plug USB keyboard into the USB port on the left side of the tablet.
  6. Press and release the power button on the right side of the tablet.
  7. As soon as you release the power button, begin pressing Esc about once per second.
    1. The tablet will display a graphical utility for selecting the boot options.
    2. If the tablet continues booting up normally instead of displaying the graphical utility, wait for it to finish booting up, shut it down, and try again.
    3. Use the arrow keys to select Boot Manager and press Enter.
  8. On the Boot Manager screen, use the arrow keys to select the device you want to boot from and press Enter.
    1. USB drives will be named according to the manufacturer and model of the USB drive.
    2. USB drives are usually listed under Legacy USB.
    3. Use the arrow keys to select "Install FullCount..." and press Enter.
      **Note: OS image version 7.3.1 may stall at a 100% loading bar on the last step of the installation process. A long-press of the power button still shut down the tablet. The tablet will boot with the latest image when it's powered on again.
