Boot Elo Kiosk Terminal from USB

Boot Elo Kiosk Terminal from USB

Objectives

Boot an Elo kiosk terminal from a USB device such as a thumb drive in order to install a new operating system.

Prerequisites

1. USB keyboard.
2. Elo Kiosk.
3. Bootable USB device such as a thumb drive with an OS image 7.X.X installer.

*NOTE: Elo kiosks do not ship with an operating system. New orders will need to have a USB drive shipped from FullCount.

Instructions

  1. Shutdown the Elo Kiosk.
  2. Open the display bracket and plug in the USB drive and the keyboard into the USB hub.

  1. Power on the Elo Kiosk, and press "F11" once every second until the Boot Menu appears.
  2. When the Boot Menu appears, select “UEFI: NAME OF USB DEVICE” selection. This will show as "PNY" or "KINGSTON" depending on who manufactured the USB device.

*Note: This may be a different entry depending on USB drive used.

  1. A menu with a FullCount logo will appear with 2 options. Choose the option that begins with "Install FullCount..."
  2. The installer will run and install the operating system. When it reboots, unplug the USB drive. The drive should now boot with the new operating system.
