How to Copy USB Drives on the StarTech Disk Duplicator

Objectives

Copy/clone USB drives for mailing OS images or for testing.

Prerequisites

  1. StarTech USB duplicator.
  2. Source image USB drive.
  3. 1-5 blank USB drives.

Instructions

Step-by-step instructions for accomplishing your objectives.

  1. Plug USB drive labelled “Source (model)” into Source 1 port on the duplicator.
  1. Plug up to 5 blank drives into any of the T2-T6 slots.
  1. Turn the duplicator on with the power switch on the back.
  1. The duplicator display will show “1.Copy(Data).”
  1. Press the circular button, the duplicator will read drives.
  1. When the duplicator says “X to start” where X is the number of drives plugged in to copy, press the circular button again.
  1. The duplicator will begin copying. It usually takes around 5 minutes.
  1. When the disks are 100% copied and done, the duplicator will beep and can be turned off. Ensure there is a green light under each drive that was duplicated. A red light indicates an error.
