How to Check the HDD Cable Connections on Pioneer S-Line Terminals

Objectives

Check and reseat connections for cables attaching the HDD to the terminal.

Prerequisites

These instructions apply only to Pioneer S-Line Terminals and will not apply to Cypress Terminals

Instructions

Check Cable Connections for HDD on Pioneer Terminals

  1. Power off the terminal
    1. **It is vitally important to make sure the terminal is completely powered down before proceeding to step 2**
  2. Remove the lower cover by pressing the two buttons on either side and lifting.
  3. Locate the HDD on the left side of the base of the terminal next to the printer
  4. For easy access to the HDD, you can remove the drive and its case by loosening the hand screw, sliding the case towards you and lifting.
  5. Unplug the two cables connected to the HDD (cables labeled 1 & 2 on the attached photos)
  6. Plug each cable back into the drive, ensuring the are firmly in place.
  7. Replace the HDD and its case into the base and tighten the hand screw holding it in place.
  8. Unplug the power cable connecting the terminal to the HDD in the port labeled “ PWR OUT” (3 on the attached photos)
  9. Plug the power cable back into the “PWR OUT” port ensuring it is firmly in place
  10. Unplug the eSATA cable connecting the terminal to the HDD in the port labeled “eSATA” (4 in the attached photos)
  11. Plug the eSATA cable back into the “eSATA” port ensuring it is firmly in place.
  12. Replace the base cover
  13. Power on the terminal.
