BIOS Settings for Pioneer Cyprus Terminals
BIOS Settings for Pioneer Cyprus Terminals
There are several BIOS settings that are required in order
for a Pioneer Cyprus terminal to work correctly. Specifically:
- UEFI
Boot must be set to Enabled.
- Boot
Option #1 must be set to UEFI OS (P0: SATA SSD).
Both of these settings are located on the Boot tab in
the BIOS. Here is a screenshot of what the BIOS settings look like when they
are configured correctly:

Here is a screenshot of the bootloader menu when UEFI Boot
is disabled:

The screen appears "grainy" (i.e. very low
resolution), and the colors are "washed out" (8-bit colordepth).
Another problem is that it a takes a very long time (multiple seconds) for the
terminal to update the screen when a key is pressed.
Here is a screenshot of the error message that is displayed after
the bootloader menu when UEFI is disabled:

Steps to Restore UEFI Settings
- Turn
on the terminal, enter the Setup Utility by repeatedly pressing the
"Delete" key.
- Navigate
to the "BOOT" tab and change the UEFI Boot to
"Enabled."
- Press
F4 to Save and Exit and choose "Yes" and press the
"Enter" key.
- Return
to the Setup Utility by turning on or restarting the terminal on the
terminal and repeatedly pressing the "Delete" key.
- Navigate
to the "BOOT" tab, and change the value of Boot Option #1 to "UEFI
OS (P0: SATA SSD)."
- Press
F4 to Save and Exit and choose "Yes" and press the
"Enter" key
Notes
- As of
10/10/2019, the current version of the BIOS (2.17.1246) does not enable
"UEFI Boot" when the 'F3' key is pressed to load "Optimized
Defaults". We are working with Pioneer to see if this is something
that can be changed; see Feature #3825.
- If the
Cyprus terminal does not fully power off (FullCount logo remains lit)
after changing to UEFI Boot, make sure the OS Selection in the Advanced
tab is set to Android; see Customer Support #7063.
