1. Go through our list of approved android tablets and check
to see if any of our current offerings have been end-of-life'd via samsung.
a. If the tablet has reached it's end of life, update the
fullcount-hardware-links KB article to indicate that the tablet is end of
life'd.
b. If the tablet has not reached its end of life or does not
appear on the list in
https://endoflife.date/samsung-mobile,
check Amazon.com to see if the tablet is easily available. If it's not easily
available, update the fullcount-hardware-links KB article to indicate that the
tablet is unavailable due to supply issues.
* For each approved Android tablet, the "FE" or
"Fan Edition" versions are identical to their non-FE counterparts but
feature cheaper hardware and reduced performance. Customers seeking a more
budget-friendly option may consider these tablets. Although these will work, FE
tablets should not be included in the approved list or communicated to the
customer unless they specifically ask.
1. If there's a new tablet available, click on the tablet to
view it's specifications. To validate that a new tablet will work, generally
the screen size should be at least 10.5" and the display resolution should
be at least 1920x1080.
a. If the tablet meets the above criteria for validation,
add it to the list of approved android offerings. Be sure to include the
model number and link to the tablet.
b. If the tablet does not meet the above criteria,
generally, it wont work and should not be added to the list of approved tablets
without manually testing the touchscreen application on a physical device.
1. Remove any tablets that are now end-of-life'd or
difficult to obtain due to supply issues.
2. Add any new offerings to the table
3. Notify Systems of our new tablet offerings so they can
add the new models to Device Management
4. Send and email to the sales and implementation/support
team to notify them of any changes in our current offerings. In the email,
remind sales to update their Panda docs. Example email:
