Item Limit on Menus (Self-Service & Online Ordering)
Item Limit on Menus
Menus can now limit how many items can be selected per seat when ordering
through Self-
Service and through Online Ordering.
The item limit will apply to every item under a given menu and its child menus.
For example,
if a community has a “Lunch” menu with a limit of 1 containing a “Desserts”
child menu
that has no limit, the user can only order one item from the “Desserts” menu.
If the “Lunch”
menu has a limit of 2 and the “Desserts” menu has a limit of 1, the seat can
order 1 item
from the “Desserts” menu and something from another part of the “Lunch” menu.
Choice lists and modifiers will not count towards the item limit.
Menu item limits can be set in the Back Office in the Menus subtab of Item
Management. It
is labeled “Item Limit (Self-Ordering)” and can be set in both the table view,
and the Details
view under the screen description. It will be visible if the community has
online ordering
licensed or there is at least one department set to self-service. If the field
is blank the menu
will have no item limit options listed.
