How to Setup Wireless on a POS-X Tablet

How to Setup Wireless on a POS-X Tablet

1. Plug a USB keybaord into the tablet and press CTRL + Alt + F1 to switch to shell.

2. Log in as “networkconfig”

3. Password is “networkconfig” (This will not display anything when it is entered.)

4. Tab to highlight the “Intel WLAN controller” network card.

5. Press Alt+i (or F4) to edit the network card.

6. Press Alt+n to get to the wireless setup.

7. Tab past network name to “Scan Network” hit enter. (This will scan for all known networks, if the network is hidden skip this step and type in the ESSID)

Note: There is no way to enter a space in this field so scanning is the only option. If there is a space in the hidden network they will need to change the ESSID.

8. Tab to highlight the “Network Name (ESSID)” field press down arrow to view networks. Hit enter to select the correct network.

9. Select WPA-PSK (Version 1 and 2) as Authentication Mode.

10. Tab to highlight “Passphrase” and if not selected, hit space.

11. Tab to highlight “Encryption Key” field.

12. Enter the Encryption Key (password) provided by community.

13. Alt+N

14. Alt+O will save.

Press Ctrl+Alt+F7 to switch back to the application.
