Configure Wireless Settings on 7.2.X Hardware
Objectives
- Configure
Linux device, such as a POS-X ION tablet or Elo Self Service Kiosk, with
wireless network information
Prerequisites
- USB
wired keyboard
- ESSID/Passphrase
information
Instructions
- Plug a
USB keybaord into the device and press Ctrl + Alt + F1 to switch to
shell.
- Log in
as networkconfig
- Password
is networkconfig (This will not display anything when it is
entered.)
- Tab
to highlight the “Intel WLAN controller” network card. Press Alt + i
(or F4) to edit the network card.

- Press Alt
+ g to navigate to the General menu.

- Press Alt
+ d to Activate Device.

- Use
the arrow keys to highlight At Boot Time, press Enter.

- Press Alt
+ w to navigate to the Wireless menu.

- Tab
to "Choose Network" or press Alt + o (or F10).
- Using
the arrow keys to navigate, highlight the desired network and press Alt
+ c to select the highlighted entry.

- The
Authentication Mode should update accordingly. Tab to
"Password" or press Alt + p and type in the password for
the wireless network that has been selected.

- Press Alt
+ n for Next.
- Press Alt
+ o to save your changes and close.
