Update BIOS on DT Research DT315BT Tablets

Objectives

Update the BIOS on DT315BT tabets so OS Images 7.1.0+ install correctly.

Prerequisites

  1. DT315BT Tablet
  2. DT Research dock
  3. BIOS update USB drive
  4. Keyboard

Instructions

  1. Insert "BIOS Update" USB drive into the USB port on the left-hand side of the tablet.
  2. Attach keyboard to dock.
  3. Power on, while repeatedly pressing the Escape key (Esc).
  4. Navigate to the right and select Boot Manager. Press Enter.
  5. Choose "PNY USB 2.0 FD" or the option under "Legacy USB" and press Enter.
  6. Once FreeDOS boots, a command prompt will show.
  7. Press "d" then press the "Tab" key, this will autocomplete and "dt3108.exe" will appear on the command-line.
  8. Press "3" then press the "Tab" key, this will autocomplete and "dt3108.exe 315BT_~1.ROM" will appear on the command-line. Press Enter.
  9. Wait until the BIOS utility finishes. It will say "done!" when complete.
  10. Turn off the tablet and move on to imaging with 7.1.0 or greater USB drive.
