Part Numbers
Determining Part Number to Order
When placing an order for RFID readers, it is important to know which part number you want to order for. If possible, have the community send a sample card that can be tested in our lab. When the community sends the sample card, have them indicate the value that they believe is on the card. We have readers for most part numbers located in the lab. To test a card, take the RFID readers in our lab and hook up to your computer. Open notepad or a similar word processing application and scan the card. If the card is read, you will see the information from the card on the screen. Verify that it matches what the community believes is on the card. If you are unable to find a proximity card reader that works from our lab, you will want to use the programmable card reader in our lab to determine the combination needed to read the cards. Information on using the programmable card reader is below.
