Nutrition Feature Setup

Nutrition Feature Setup

ARTICLE STILL UNDER REVIEW-??? This documentation needs to be filled in much better.  But for now, we'll just put in things that need to be in here as we think of them. ???

Upon turning on the Nutrition features by setting Nutrition Licensed to Yes, the implementation project manager should create a Redmine similar to 17243 - Insert a "Daily Values" Nutrition Profile record asking for... Data Import to insert a "Daily Values" Nutrition Profile record for the Community/Organization that has the same values for the columns (except the community_id of course) as what Community ID 30 has.  The intent is that we'll keep Community ID 30 and all other communities/organizations' Daily Values up to speed with what the government sets for Daily Values.

  1. Enable Nutrition License via Community licenses section.
  2. Add Roles - Nutrition Profiles Full & Integration Allergens (if ADT integration is applicable).
  3. Duplicate Redmine Task #17243 - "Insert a "Daily Values" Nutrition Profile" for your respective community and assign to Data Import.
  4. Create Tag Categories via Item Management. The Standard PCC Integration Types are below:
    1. Diet Type
    2. Fluid Consistency
    3. Texture
  5. Review Dietary Tags via Item Management w/ customer to identify Tags needing created. Concept questions to ask when reviewing are below:
    1. Are we building "Needs", "Avoids", or both types of tags. Think of these as filters when searching through items available for a given person.
      1. Needs - Any customer having a respective dietary tag CAN ONLY HAVE items that fit within this profile.
      2. Avoids - Any customer having a respective dietary tag MUST AVOID items that fit within this profile
    2. Example Dietary Tags and their respective Categories below:
      1. Diet Type - Renal, Low Sodium, Low Fiber, Pleasure Foods (avoids)
      2. Fluid Consistency - Thin (avoids), Nectar Thick, Honey Thick, Pudding Thick
      3. Texture - Mechanical Chopped, Mechanical Puree, Finger Foods, Meats cut to bite size pieces
  6. Associate Dietary Tags to Items. This process can be done via Data Import or manually by the customer/Dietitian.
    1. If using Data Import, please request data templates to be pre-populated.
  7. Associate Dietary Tags to Customers.
    1. If the clent is to have Customer dietary information pulling through ADT Integration, plan accordingly on the ADT Integration Documentation template.
  8. Create Custom Defined Fields to map allergens or tags to Customers.
    1. Consider Item Management > Integration Allergens mapping.
      1. If applicable, we will need to review a list of all data values set to come through PCC and plan/map accordingly. Ex:
        1. Egg (whole) = Eggs
        2. Egg = Eggs
        3. Egg Substitute = Eggs
        4. Milk Protein = Milk
        5. Ice Cream = Milk
        6. Nuts = Tree Nuts
        7. Pasta = Wheat
  9. Mode Settings
    1. Evaluate Nutrition Alerts section. These settings are only applicable for Online Ordering, BOE, Self-Service 2023, and Retail modes currently.
    2. THIS IS NOT APPLICABLE FOR STANDARD/LEGACY RESTAURANT MODES.
  10. Item Types
    1. Update each nutrition-enabled item type as follows:
      1. Ingredients Application - No
      2. Allergies Applicable - Yes
      3. Dietary Tags Applicable - Yes
