Install PuTTY SSH Client

Objectives

  1. Install PuTTY SSH client on your computer.

Prerequisites

  1. A computer
  2. A web browser
  3. An Internet connection

Instructions

  1. Open a web browser, and click on the following link:

    http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/latest.html
     
  2. Search for the section named "MSI (‘Windows Installer’)".
  3. Click on the link to download the MSI installer.
  4. After the download has finished, double-click on the MSI file to start the installer.

  6. Refer to the instructions in Set up SSH Authentication Agent to set up an authentication agent.
  7. Refer to the instructions in Launch PuTTY from Remote Connections Page to set up a protocol handler for SSH.
