How to create an email rule
An email rule is a filter that applies to emails that come in your inbox. It will take them and move them into different folders, to help your inbox stay organized and avoid clutter
To create email rules in the new Outlook app, press the gear in the top left
Then, navigate to Mail > Rules
Here, press Create a new rule:
That will bring you to this form:
Here, name the rule something useful so you can find it
again later. Then, configure your conditions. For example:
Well, you can do many things with the Add an Action field. But we usually use it to move the email to a different folder
On your first creation of these rules, you will probably want to check Run rule now - this will run the rule on all the emails currently in your inbox
NOTE: One thing to watch for is the "Stop processing more rules" checkbox. This should be checked, at least if you're just creating the rules we've got here. However, what it means is that order matters. Well, in our case, specifically for the Redmine rules - your personal Redmine rule needs to run before the other Redmine rule, otherwise it won't work!
