Device Management - Hardware Tab

Through the Hardware Tab of the device management application, FullCount staff can add hardware without waiting for a member of the development team. To successfully add hardware, users will need to add hardware through the device management application and also on the Terminals page in the back office application. Each FullCount employee will have their own username and password to access the device management application.

Searching Hardware:

One of the main functions of the Hardware Tab is to search for existing hardware. This is done using the search panel at the top of the hardware tab, where the table can be filtered by community, serial number, description, model, or role. If hardware has been marked as inactive, it will not be visible on the table.

Add New Hardware:

Steps to add new hardware:

  1. Click 'Add New Hardware' button on the Hardware Table
  2. A dialog will appear (see below)
  3. Enter the serial number of the hardware.
  4. Enter a description.
  5. Use the autocomplete to select the model.
  6. Use the autocomplete to select the community.
  7. Select the Role of this hardware.
  8. If the hardware is an Android tablet, enter the version number and type of licensing.
  9. Press Save button
    1. 'Save and Add Another' will save the current piece of hardware and repopulate the dialog with previously entered information. Helpful when adding a batch of similar hardware for the same community.
  10. When saving, the serial number will be validated for length and prefix, as well as checking to make sure it has not already been entered.

Inactivate Hardware:

If hardware is no longer active at a community due to RMA or end of life, it should be made inactive.

  1. Apply a Serial Number search to the Hardware Table.
  2. Click the 'Inactivate' button to the far right of the table on the row with the Hardware to be deactivated.
  3. A prompt will appear, confirming that you wish to deactivate that piece of hardware.
    1. Note that hardware cannot be reactivated through the Device Management application.

Hardware Dialog:

When clicking details of existing hardware, Touchscreen URL and Computer Net Settings information will appear as additional fields on this dialog.
